Kayla Haven— Cozy Textiles & Winter Decor

Sofa // Accent Chairs // Floors // Rug
This morning on Instagram I posted this picture of our great room. The month of January can be a challenging time decorate—the holidays are over, but it’s not quite spring. Similar to years past, with winter decor I am consistently drawn to the same color pallet: blues, taupes, beige and winter whites.
Our great room is full of neutral elements that I love because they set a foundation for my seasonal decorations. I’m a firm believer in investing in larger tickets items, sofas and chairs, while utilizing seasonal decor accents to complete the space. This allow for you to save money, however it also allows for a fresh new look each season.

This week I spent some time changing out pillow covers and moving around my shelf decor. I also added in blue stems to my coffee table that accented my loloi rug and my new pillow covers.
Changing out pillows for each season is a great way to bring in new prints, patterns, and textures; however, it can become expensive and hard in terms of storing them. More recently, pillow covers have become my go-to! They are an easy way to change up the look of your larger spaces! I love utilizing neutral investments pieces and elevating them with an updated pillow cover each season. You can read more about refreshing your space with affordable pillow options here! My tip is to use the same pillow insert each time, making the covers easy to change out and store.
I use these particular inserts from amazon. They are a down alternative and the comfiest softest pillows ever. I’ve slowly been updating each of my pillows in my home to have this insert, and using pillow covers as I find them/change them out.

While looking for cozy items to add to my winter decor I stumbled upon Nordstrom home. With now being the best time for resting and cuddling up on the sofa with your favorite shows, their pieces are absolutely perfect! They have so many great textiles and blankets at Nordstrom that would make great addition to keep your living area fresh and cozy for the winter. Plus can you really ever have enough throw blankets or pillows? In addition, choosing neutral accessories such as blankets with natural tones will allow you to keep them out as the seasons transition.
Thank you for following along, friends! Tag me in your pictures on Instagram if you utilize any of my tips on how to keep up with cozy during the winter season!
