Midi skirts & chunky sweaters

Chunky sweaters and Midi skirts

My obsession with midi skirts this fall continues. I have been seeing this trend pop up so much on pinterest and on instagram, and I continuously feel drawn to it. Why? Because these midi skirts are like wearing a sweater on your bottom half which almost feels like a blanket! I don’t know about you but every fall I want all the cozies and these skirts are the best transition piece ever!

My goal this week was to take these photos of these cute skirts and sweaters in places other than the dressing room, but mother nature has had other plans. It has literally been raining for a week straight, so the dressing room will have to do.

mix and match for numerous outfits

Target and H&M were stocked up on some adorable fall fashion items this week! You better believe I had a great time playing dress up and pairing these fall essentials together!

This grey skirt is the same one I am wearing above in the charcoal/brownish color. It runs a little big and if you are looking for more of a pencil type fitting skirt, I recommending sizing down. I am wearing an x-small in this particular style. The material is like a ribbed knit and it is the softest thing ever. I love that you can wear it high waisted (hello mamas!) Pairing a skirt that is more season appropriate and adds warmth, adds a feminine touch and difference to your everyday jean look.

versatile pieces

I absolutely love the look and feel of a chunky sweater tucked into the front of these high waisted skirts. This leopard cardigan was one of my favorites. Talk about soft! When I put this sweater on, I realized it ran really big. I am wearing a medium in these pics and could have definitely sized down. I would recommend either sticking with your normal size or size down one. The oversized slouchy look of this cardigan is so cute,  and think it would look great with jeans and leggings as well!

The mustard skirt I am wearing above, is another knit ribbed option from Target. This skirt fits a little smaller than the other ribbed skirt, so I would recommend sticking to your normal size or sizing up depending on how you like it to fit.

Unfortunately I was not able to link every sweater and skirt that I tried on. Sometimes the stores don’t have every option available on their website. You can always check out your local target and H&M. I did round up bunch of affordable options for both chunky sweaters, as well as midi skirts. I think most of these could be paired interchangeably creating a fall capsule wardrobe.
