I am finally getting around to blogging about Breckum’s big boy bedroom. Refreshing his bedroom was last summers project and I am so happy to say he is still LOVING his big boy bedroom one year later. He just turned 5 and he still loves coming into his room each day to snuggle, read, imagine and play.
When designing his bedroom I knew I wanted it to flow with the rest of our home, so of course neutrals were on my mind. However, I always want my kids to feel like their bedroom is a reflection of who they are, and not so much what mom likes. I love that I was able to capture my adventurous little boy in a way that not only compliments him but really satisfies my design taste and style!
The staple pieces of his bedroom were of course the tee pee style bed and the little wood table and chair set. I found this adorable table and chairs from Walmart home (This post is sponsored by Walmart) and it was the perfect addition so he could build his blocks & legos, and play with his dinosaurs and paw patrol toys. I love that there are four chairs so both the girls can sit down and play too. It’s a really good quality and the shape is so unique and modern!
My favorite part of the style of his room is the mix of patterns and textures throughout. I kept the color pallet with light woods, blues, taupes, whites, ivory and gray. It created such a calming and inviting space that I knew he would love for years and years.
Investing in quality bedding that I know can last through his potty training years was important to me. The Gap Home line at Walmart is excellent quality. I love the pinstripe jersey sheets and they have continued to wash and wear well for the past year. I am a huge fan of this brand at Walmart.
If you’re looking to furnish a space or maybe just add some small updates, I highly recommend checking out Walmart. I have scored so many beautiful finds there over the last few years, and I love that each time my expectations of quality and longevity are always met!
