ANXIETY: Let’s talk about it!
I’ve learned over the past few years that there truly needs to be more open dialogue and discussion so people don’t feel so alone. I have dealt with anxiety for the majority of my life. Likely something that runs in my family, but also suffer from some acute traumas that trigger a more significant response. It’s so unique after talking about anxiety with friends and family that everyone’s manifests in different way. Some of us deal with anxiety on a daily basis, some of us have certain triggers and circumstance, others maybe feel it but can’t quite define it- truly a unique situation for everyone. But there’s always a common factor- most people are typically scared or nervous to openly talk about it, and most people strive to find ways to balance it. I can attest to both. Over the past few years I’ve had to really channel my anxieties into my work but also physical activities. It helps me balance out the yuck and bring in the good. If you too find yourself in a battle in your own head, know I’m right there with you. Being down in Florida has allowed me to breathe deep and get back to my roots of what helps my anxiety. Physical activity. Being outdoors, Yoga, faith, eating a clean diet , cbd oil and extra extra water are the things that help me the most. What helps you?

Also- thank you for allowing me this platform where I feel comfortable talking about things that maybe aren’t so easy to talk about. I am really really thankful for that.

Trading in our sweaters for some warmer weather and time with family and leaving for Florida on Friday. I won’t lie I’m looking forward to the time away with this guy. This weekend is Alex’s brothers birthday and the year anniversary of his death is coming up in March. We had all originally planned to travel to Honduras to celebrate his life and birthday over this time but the world had different plans for us. Even with different plans we are still looking forward to sunshine and good memories with people who mean so much to us.

It’s been a hard week over here. Nothing serious or specific just feeling the general burn out of the pandemic. We had this photo taken the week we went into lockdown last March, and one week after my brother in law died. Sometimes I look at this photo and think about all we’ve been through this year, and other times I think about all we are still going thru. Collectively. All of us. I feel a heavy weight in my chest and the longing of normalcy. I miss it. I miss it for all of us. It’s just been a tough week. That is all.
